My top three tips for holding a “Meet Stella & Dot” event, otherwise known as an MSD.

1.) Location
* Choose a location that’s fun, hip and oh-so-Stella & Dot – usually a wine bar, bistro or coffee shop that is close to freeway access.
* Ask around to find out what people are saying about the venue, or go on Yelp and Google Reviews to read what others are saying.
* To keep costs down, don’t worry about agreeing to a room fee or a food minimum – Partner with another venue if that’s the case.

2.) Inviting People to Attend – the most important part!
* First go to hostesses & customers (they already love S&D) to spread the buzz and ask them to join you at your event
* Contact friends & family to see if they’d like to join you also – And have them share & forward the event details to anyone they think is interested.
* Partner with the manager or owner of the venue and ask them to post flyers or share flyers within the venue location.
* Bonus Tip: Utilize Facebook, Twitter, Craigslist, Eventbrite and other online resources to help you spread the buzz! Just be sure to check Stella & Dot’s policies and procedures beforehand.

3.) Keep it Simple During the MSD
* Set up about 3 jewelry trays and 2 neck forms – you don’t need much more! Keep it easy for yourself & don’t overwhelm your potential stylist.
* Have a folder ready to hand out with the following: Look Book, opportunity brochure, Jump Start printout, Start Kit Contents printout, and your business card.
* Bring your calendar so you can schedule their launch show on the spot! Or if they aren’t ready to jump in right away, you can schedule a trunk show with them so they can get to know Stella & Dot even more.
